We have been entrusted with debugging the code of a scrap bucket-loading system that had issues when adding and removing material from the buckets, not updating their total weights and causing troubles in the EAF furnaces’ control.

Used software:

• Studio 5000 Logix Designer,
• Studio 5000 Logix Emulate,
• FactoryTalk View SE, and
• IBA analyzer.

New features added:

• HMI pop-up to display details of the scrap bucket’s layer.
• Automatic deletion of scrap layers data when the material is taken out.
• Immediate update of recipe items’ actual weight after adding or removing material.
• Continuous calculation of the scrap bucket’s total weight and cost.
